Schedule: The full time position will be required to work shifts between the hours of 0600am and 2.06am Monday to Friday, as well as rostered weekends and public holidays. Prior experience in Microbiology an advantage.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Scientist who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate, vibrant and engaged team who will be responsible for:
Perform manual and automated diagnostic testing;
Specimen storage and retrieval;
Equipment maintenance and operation;
Maintenance of records;
Assist with stock control;
Maintain confidentiality of customer and QML Pathology;
About you
To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:
A Bachelor Degree in Science or equivalent
Extensive experience and interest in diagnostic microbiology testing
Proficient keyboard skills
A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
Must be a cohesive and contributing member of the team and display positive attitudes towards achieving outcomes
Strong time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
Attention to detail
The ability to identify and analyse issues, problems and opportunities in a timely and effective manner
An understanding of diagnostic microbiology, in particular bacterial identification and sensitivity testing; NATA requirements and QAP for diagnostic pathology
Experience with Virtuo Blood Culture instrument, Vitek ll and Vitek MS would be an advantage
