About the role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and multiskilled Scientific Officer/Technical Officer to join our high performing team in a multidisciplinary laboratory located in Tamworth on a part-time basis.
The Scientific Officer will have a deep understanding and skillset across various disciplines of Haematology, Coagulation, and Biochemistry testing in a laboratory setting.
As the Scientific Officer, you will become part of a passionate, vibrant, and engaged team responsible for:
Duties across disciplines in Haematology, Haemostasis, and BiochemistryEffective communication with patients, clinical, and laboratory staffValidation of results and provision of comprehensive reports to assist with client or clinical decisions in a time-critical mannerUnderstanding of Quality control and Quality Management across various departments and solid understanding of NATA requirements/ ISO 15189Regular maintenance and basic troubleshooting on instrumentation, equipment, and manual techniques while maintaining accurate recordsParticipation in regular training for relevant techniques and instrument operation, and engagement in ongoing departmental competency programs and external quality assurance initiativesCustomer-focused approach with well-developed interpersonal skills, good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients, and clinical and laboratory staff, along with report writing skills and statistical evaluation of scientific dataCollaboration with Laboratory Manager and Chief Scientists from Core Laboratory to identify areas for improvement and implement workflow enhancements for continuous laboratory improvementStrong customer-focused approachAbout you To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:
