Sonic Clinical Trials – Macquarie Park NSWSonic Clinical Trials (SCT) is a leading provider of central and local laboratory services supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology & medical device clinical trials, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Australian-owned Sonic Healthcare, one of the world's largest specialist medical diagnostics companies.As we continue to grow and explore global opportunities, we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Scientific Officer to cover rotating shifts Tues-Sat and rotating on-call Sunday.Working within a dynamic team environment at our Macquarie Park Head Office, the role will appeal to an experienced and highly motivated professional that is looking for a challenge.The OpportunityYour role will be to participate in the day-to-day operation of the laboratory, working as part of a dedicated team. Responsibilities include:General Laboratory work, performing clinical diagnostic testing across multiple disciplines (including performing ELISA assays, Multiplex and PBMC testing)Shipment receipt and specimen reception workMaintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation and equipment (Roche Cobas chemistry instruments, Sysmex Haematology and Coagulation analysers, Siemens Atellica)Compliance with accreditation and quality assurance requirementsParticipation in external QA programs and review of resultsParticipate in NATA and Sponsor audit preparationsReview and update Standard Operating proceduresAbout You5+ years' experience in a pathology laboratory or highly regulated environment such as a Clinical Trials laboratoryProven experience with various PBMC and buffy coat isolation techniques and/or, performing ELISA assays and/or, Multiplex testingExperience in Immunoserology, coagulation and haemostasis would be highly regardedDegree qualified in Biomedical Science, Science or equivalentSelf-motivated, with a high attention to detail, ability to be flexible, and a willingness to display initiativeCommitment to high quality work and customer serviceAbility to work a rotating roster, including weekendsCurrent laboratory hours are 7:30am to 8:00pm Monday - Friday, Saturday 8:30am-6:30pm. The position will also require after-hours on-call for Sundays as part of a rotating roster with the other scientific staff. No overnight shifts are required for this position.Background checks, including a National Police Check, will be required prior to commencement.
