Science Technician, Agriculture And Fisheries

As our Technical Officer you will: Work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team of scientists, technical and support staff undertaking field experiments and laboratory research into innovative methods for the detection, identification, and eradication of the red imported fire ant.
Assist or undertake laboratory-based activities such as: Preparation of ant samples and sample vials; Identifying suspect ants from samples or images; Sorting invertebrates from field samples; Capture of diagnostic data; Maintenance of scientific equipment and materials; Cleaning and maintenance of live ant colonies.
