About the Role
The Science Coordinator (6 – 12) works directly to the Head of School and under the strategic leadership of the Director of Learning and Teaching. Faculty Coordinators are part of our 'Learning and Teaching Team' led by the Director of Learning and Teaching along with the Heads of School. This team provides Christian leadership, implementation of the strategic direction, and day-to-day operations of the learning and teaching across the school.
They are responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of a rich and invigorating, Christ-centred learning experience for students from Year 6 – Year 12. They take the lead role in designing and implementing an authentic Christian curriculum across the school, which gives attention to:

the empowerment of children as active agents in their own learning;
the inclusion of the child's world (family and community); and
a holistic approach to children's growth and development.

The Science Coordinator is a Position of Responsibility 2 (PR2) and will undertake a 0.8FTE teaching load.

A sharp, research-informed progressive vision of learning and teaching and the capacity to create a rich and invigorating learning environment in a Christian learning community of excellence.
A gifted, dynamic teacher with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the development and educational needs of students and a passion for encouraging them in faith in Jesus Christ.
Excellent academic qualifications and subject knowledge.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to relate with compassion, humility, grace, strength, and integrity to students, families, and staff.
