Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities - Capalaba State College, Education Capalaba State College is seeking a highly motivated Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities to join our dedicated team. As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities support to the Principals and Business Manager.
This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. About the Role: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintaining school grounds, including the maintenance of school ovals, grounds, gardens, regular blowing, mowing, and watering. Delivering and collecting mail, parcels, and documents. Regular service and general maintenance of grounds care equipment, such as mowers, brush cutters, and tractors. Moving furniture around school and transporting classroom supplies to different locations within the school. Setting up for functions including seating in halls and equipment for sporting functions. Attend to or arrange repairs and maintenance within the school, including minor building maintenance tasks. Cleaning duties requiring immediate action for health and hygiene reasons. Clearing of drains and gutters. You will report directly to the Principals and/or Business Manager. About you: Willingness to undertake specific training to enhance skills as necessary. Proven ability to build strong working relationships with a diverse range of people. Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, proactive, and show initiative. Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills. Ability to think logically and solve problems. Proven experience working with machinery, including maintenance and record keeping.
