Quinalow Prep to 10 State School (cluster) is seeking a dedicated and skilled School Technical Officer for a temporary full-time position until 13 December 2024, unless otherwise determined. The successful applicant will be appointed to the TO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the TO3 once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of TO2 to TO3 classification range.About UsQuinalow State School is located in the Rosalie Shire on the northern downs, within close proximity to the picturesque Bunya Mountains. The school services a small active rural community with a population of approximately 300. Quinalow was originally part of Rosalie Plains Station known as 'the big scrub' where the mighty race horse Bernborough was foaled.The first provisional school at Quinalow was established in February 1901 and in later years (1965) extended to include secondary schooling to year 10.According to local records, the Daly Brothers named Quinalow after Catholic Archbishop Quinn who encouraged Irish settlers to come to the area because there was a potato famine in Ireland at the time. The 'alow' was named after a lough which is a brook or stream in Ireland.About The RoleThe School Technical Officer will be responsible for managing and supporting the school's technology devices and systems, providing technical support to staff and students and ensuring the smooth operation of our network and IT resources.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Provide advice and assistance on maximising the potential of ICT operations within the school/college, including acquisition, installation, operation, maintenance, repair and replacement.Support the school community with technical advice, instruction and assistance with electronic equipment, in accordance with departmental, school and manufacturer's policy, guidelines and network standards.Assist in the provision of in-service training to staff, on the effective application of ICT tools to successfully achieve and deliver educational services to students.Provide effective and efficient support to staff and students to resolve problems associated with school computing facilities, whilst ensuring high end customer focus and communication.Provide regular preventative maintenance, routine and emergency repairs to all ICT facilities and associated electronic equipment.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.How To ApplyPlease attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant previous work history); andA 2-pg written statement in response to the attached role description.We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.Salary rate shown is reflective of full-time (1.0 FTE).The Department of Education is a family inclusive workplace.
