Salary: Level 1 - SPS Y2, $87,478 - $141,124 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 Applicants interested in part-time roles are encouraged to apply. Founded in 1955, Mount Lawley Senior High School is located 5 kilometres from the Perth CBD. It comprises three sub-schools; Years 7 & 8, Years 9 & 10 and Years 11 & 12. It hosts a Gifted and Talented Languages program, a Specialist Visual and Performing Arts program, a Music program and the innovative Aboriginal Excellence Program. The school offers a breadth of curriculum choices and has a rich history of student success and achievement.

Mount Lawley Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative and organised school psychologist with a passion for supporting the whole child to achieve to their potential. They must have a friendly disposition and strong communication skills and be committed to forming positive working relationships with staff, students and parents.

Our school psychologist will be responsible for supporting staff to put in place effective strategies and plans that support the mental health and wellbeing along with the learning and motivation of our students. They will offer guidance on behaviour support, risk management and emergency and critical incident management as well as professional learning for staff and parents. Knowledge and experience in identifying, planning and supporting the staff to address both the individual needs of students at educational risk and students with challenging behaviour is a requirement of the role.

Demonstrated ability to implement psychology services and programs in an educational environment to maximise student learning outcomes. Demonstrated knowledge of the implementation and evaluation of a variety of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group and system-level intervention. Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills. Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts. Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation.
