About the role St Benedict's Catholic School is seeking an experienced and dedicated School Officer - Library Technician to commence 20 January 2025. .
This is a Permanent, Term Time position completing 27.5 hours per week.
The role of School Officer – Library Technician is responsible for the smooth day to day running of the library with a broad range of associated roles and tasks within a variety of contexts.
The School Officer – Library Technician will be required to apply some judgement and discretion with the application of equipment, work organisation, service provision and actions to achieve outcomes within time constraints.
Key Accountabilities Daily opening and closing procedures.
Responsible for library stocktake Maintain library environment and facilities.
Train library volunteers Maintain library equipment Maintain, operate and trouble shoot issues with equipment including IT and AV equipment Circulation and help desk duties Responsible for conducting, resource management, cataloguing, back orders and stocktaking of resources Administrative tasks to support the functioning of the library – barcoding, stamping, spine labelling and covering Assist and liaise with the Finance Officer for reconciling library budget expenses related to resources Promote the Library and resources to all staff and students.
Preparation, coordinating advertising for Book Club and Book Fair Oversee and support the Library activities and clubs, including timetabling Undertake special projects as required Other duties as requested by the Leadership team.
Mandatory Criteria Qualification at certificate level or equivalent knowledge and experience relevant to the position Knowledge and experience of Library Management Systems (LMS) Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
Desirable Criteria Experience in the school/ education setting.
Prior experience of Follet Destiny System First Aid qualification or a willingness to complete.
