Position Overview:The Hospitality Pathways Lead is a member of the College Admin Support Team responsible for establishing an Institute for Excellence in Food Technology at St Joseph's College.The intention of this initiative is to provide industry pathways to hospitality careers on the Gold Coast and offer tailored educational pathways for students in Years 10 to 12.
Essential Qualifications and Skills: Deeply understands the core values and ethos of Catholic schooling across the range of college life and be faithful to the implication of that at all times when dealing with people.Demonstrated capacity for initiative and a proactive attitudeDemonstrated collaborative, supportive and positive work habits within a team environment.Extensive industry experience with expertise in the food technology and hospitality curriculum areasDemonstrated ability to develop partnerships with industry and advocate for our studentsResponsibilities:The role holder, in consultation with leadership and teaching staff, will develop a comprehensive curriculum for the Institute for Excellence in Food Technology, incorporating practical and theoretical components.
They will establish partnerships with food industries on the Gold Coast, primary producers in the Scenic Rim and seafood and fisheries in the Coomera region.
They will oversee the operation of the student run cafe and assist to develop tailored pathways for students in Years 10 to 12.
Communication Skills:Strong inter-personal skills with a focus on rapport building, listening, and questioning skills.Advanced level communication skills – written and oral.Very high ability to interact diplomatically with the College staff, parents, students and other community members.High regard for confidentiality, reliability and integrity General Administrative Skills:High level of competency with all Microsoft Office products and familiarity with SharePointHigh level of ability to work autonomously, prioritising work and delivering to deadlines.Maintain a welcoming, positive environment for staff, parents, students and other community members. The duties of this role encompass, but are not limited to, the following:Establish the Institute for Excellence in Food TechnologyIn class support for Food Technology classesDevelop industry pathwaysPartner with other BCE schools where possibleBuild relationships with industry partnersDevelop curriculumDevelop tailored pathways for senior studentsWork with school leadership team members, decision-makers, and stakeholders to define the requirements, goals, and annual planning. Qualifications:Tertiary qualifications at Associate Diploma/Diploma level or equivalent qualifications in Hospitality may be required by the employer or knowledge, qualifications and experience that are determined by the employer as necessary to successfully carry out the duties of the position.
