About the role:As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.
You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature.
However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature.
Responsibilities include: Assist with a range of duties that include clearing and hosing of drains and gutters; collection of waste, food and paper on school grounds as agreed by relevant staff and the Principal, Business Manager and/or nominated delegate; undertaking immediate action cleaning duties (outside the normal operating hours of the school's cleaning staff); coordinating the removal and/or disposal of rubbish as required; assist with requirements for significant events such as fetes, plays and major sporting events.Oversee maintenance of school ovals through regular mowing, watering and soil maintenance; lawn and garden maintenance, including regular weeding and the use of appropriate insecticides and fertilisers where necessary; plant, water and care for trees, shrubs, gardens; and undertake general maintenance of grounds care equipment such as mowers, brush cutters, tractors and arrange regular services.To Apply: Attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant work history)Attach a 1-page written statement about how your achievements and capabilities meet the requirements of the role.We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.
