ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a qualified School Nurse whose responsibilities will include: delivering direct nursing care and managing individual health cases for students and staff, including the administration of prescribed medications; providing first aid and emergency care; maintaining accurate health records; communicating effectively with parents, caregivers, and staff; and offering tailored health support for students with additional needs.

DETAILS SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION The School Nurse delivers comprehensive nursing services within a primary healthcare setting to all members of the school community, including students, staff, and visitors. They will leverage and expand their skills and knowledge, with a commitment to ongoing professional development to enhance their expertise. The School Nurse is accountable for maintaining high standards of nursing care.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY Competency in First Aid and responding to emergencies.Knowledge of the role of Registered General Nurses or Enrolled Nurses in an educational setting would be advantageous.Understanding of adolescent and adult health issues.Familiarity with the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act 2009 and the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (SA) Act 2010.Awareness of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) National Competencies for Registered and Enrolled Nurses and Midwives.Understanding of the Professional Conduct for Nurses NMBA 2018 and the Commissioner for Public Employment Code of Conduct for Public Employees.Knowledge of legislative responsibilities, Quality Improvement Systems, and the Approved Code of Practice for First Aid in the Workplace as it applies to an educational setting.Proficiency in computing skills and the MS Office suite.PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS To build rapport and connect with students of all ages.Demonstrate a sincere commitment to Jesus Christ, and the philosophy of Christian Education, and be actively involved in your local church.Effective communication skills including, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.Ability to work effectively as an individual and within a team.Ability to prioritise workload.Ability to be creative, innovative, and flexible when approaching issues within an educational school setting.Some out-of-hours work may be required e.g., attendance at after-school events or school camps.Application Instructions Applicants will need to request a Job Description and an application form, obtained by calling (08) 8261 33*** or emailing ******.
