The Learning officer is required to demonstrate competency across a range of tasks in a variety of contexts. These tasks may require some level of complexity arising from the choice of actions required.Competencies are within routines, methods and procedures. Some discretion and judgement are involved in selection of equipment, work organisation, services, actions and achieving outcomes within given timeframes.Duties are performed under limited supervision and work may be checked in relation to overall progress.The School Learning Officer role is to assist the classroom teacher to meet the learning goals of students who have diverse learning needs within the College. This may involve meeting the learning needs of the class as a whole. The ultimate responsibility for delivering classroom content rests with the classroom teacher. He/she provides direction and guidance to the SLO.
