School Engagement Coordinator

Ongoing full-time position based in South Melbourne. The School Engagement Coordinator is a member of the Community Engagement team, which is responsible for building the profile of MacKillop; enhancing the understanding of our work and the children, young people and families we support; and igniting the passion of organisations and individuals in the community to get involved in our work.
This position is responsible for expanding and deepening our engagement with school communities – with an initial focus on the Catholic school community – including system leaders; school leaders; teachers; students; and parents and guardians.
As a School Engagement Coordinator your role is to support the achievement of fundraising; volunteering; and foster care recruitment targets; and to help schools to cultivate the curiosity of students; encourage reflective and analytical thinking; and enhance their understanding and commitment to social justice in action. In this role, you will support strategic engagement with various community groups, including Catholic parishes. You'll have the exciting opportunity to create and implement new strategies to engage these and other relevant communities to help meet fundraising, carer recruitment and volunteering targets.
The ideal candidate will have a background in the education sector, with strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies to grow the number of schools engaged in our program, with a particular focus on congregational schools, and other schools in the Catholic system. Maintain and deepen engagement with schools currently engaged in our Schools programs. Coordinate and deliver presentations to students and staff of schools – in collaboration with other MacKillop staff – focused on social justice and including Calls to Action on how participants can support our work. Achieve financial targets for school engagement income. Work with the Fundraising Database Administrator to ensure accurate recording and reporting of school engagement using the Raiser's Edge database. Required To join our awesome team, you must have:
Valid and current Driver's Licence. Valid and current VIC Working with Children's Check. A satisfactory criminal history check conducted by MacKillop Family Services.
