Role Description Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Greater Sydney) Ltd is seeking a full-time School Counsellor or Psychologist with suitable experience and training to work at Hills Adventist College.
You will work to support students, their families, and school staff through counselling, group programs, and contributing to the wellbeing culture of the school.
You will also observe and assess students to gather information about how to best support them in their learning.

We are looking for someone who has: Tertiary qualification/training in counselling, or provisional or full registration as a psychologistExperience in providing counselling services addressing emotional and behavioural needs to children and adolescents, and their families.Experience in facilitating evidence-based group wellbeing or mental health programsDemonstrated knowledge of current NSW Child Protection LegislationDemonstrated knowledge of child/adolescent development and mental health issuesThe ability to undertake the duties of the role in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, Code of Ethics and Conduct of Sydney Adventist SchoolsRegistration with the appropriate professional regulatory organisation for your professionExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, an ability to work collaboratively with a team and engage with multiple stakeholdersThe ability to work independently, a willingness and capacity to take initiative and to manage a full counselling caseloadA current Working with Children Check clearance and Police Check.And who may also have: Demonstrated understanding and experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse peopleExperience in delivery of group work and presentations, and the capacity to develop and deliver social/emotional education to staff and parentsActive Christian beliefs and valuesRemuneration will depend on qualifications and level of experience and will include professional development and supervision (group and individual).
You will be part of an inter-schools team of counsellors and psychologists from across our network of Adventist schools in Greater Sydney, which will provide an opportunity for support and networking.
