Maintenance & Handyperson Services (Trades & Services)This is a full-time position based in Hobart, Tasmania at St Michael's Collegiate School. As the School Campus Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting the school's facilities and operations. With a focus on maintenance and service operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the school's campus is well-cared for and provides a safe, functional environment for students and staff.Trade qualifications and experience in building maintenance, small building work coordination and WHS is a fundamental requirement of the role.What you'll be doingOverseeing and management of general maintenance and repair tasks across the school's facilities, including buildings, grounds, and equipment.Implementation of scheduled maintenance programs and inspections.Supervision of team and allocation of day-to-day maintenance requirements carried out by team and contractors.Management of annual budget (repairs and maintenance, contractor and capital expenditure).Completion of bi-annual update of Property Inspection Book and identification of future maintenance requirements.Management of contractors including agreements, insurance and induction and school safeguarding children requirements.Overseeing operation of school bus fleet, including acting as the Responsible Operator for State Growth.Drive a school bus daily for student transportation between campuses and events.Liaise with external contractors and service providers to coordinate and oversee various facility projects.Planning and execution of campus-related initiatives.Contribute to the overall cleanliness and aesthetic presentation of the school grounds and facilities.Respond promptly to any urgent maintenance requests or issues that arise.Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.What we're looking forRelevant experience in a building maintenance/project management role, preferably within an educational or institutional setting.Clear understanding of, and ability to apply, Workplace Health and Safety guidelines and regulations.PPV bus driving license (or the ability to obtain).White card.Working at Heights Certificate.Strong practical skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of maintenance and repair issues.Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and basic equipment required for maintenance tasks.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Demonstrated administrative abilities with a high level of computer skills in the Microsoft suite of programs (Word, Outlook, Excel).Commitment to providing excellent customer service and ensuring a safe, well-maintained campus.What we offerAt St Michaels' Collegiate School, we are dedicated to fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
