Central Coast Montessori Primary School is looking for a highly motivated and adaptable part-time Business Manager to oversee the financial and legislative operations of the school. This role is perfect for a professional with previous school experience, who excels in financial management, and is looking to join our dynamic and evolving environment.
Our School
Located in the beachside suburb of Bateau Bay on the Central Coast, NSW, Central Coast Montessori Primary School (CCMPS) offers a Montessori education program for children from Kindy through to Year 6. Our school currently enrols 60 students and is based on and inspired by the educational model (pedagogy) developed by Dr. Maria Montessori which offers a holistic approach to education aimed at developing the whole child.
The Opportunity
The position available offers 2 days a week, and flexible working options including a hybrid WFH model can be considered. The right candidate for this role will have extensive experience in a school setting, and ideally within a Montessori school.
About the Role This dynamic role requires someone who can demonstrate solid knowledge of school financial operations, legislative compliance, policies and procedures. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills are also essential, as a team player who inspires others to achieve their best. Postgraduate professional qualification in finance or business, as well as an understanding of the education sector is essential.
Required Skills & Experience Ability to manage and oversee the accounting and financial functions of the school Comprehensive understanding of routine financial activities carried out in accordance with relevant legislative requirements Proven experience with the preparation of all financial and statistical returns and maintain compliance registers required by regulatory bodies Ability to manage the preparation and completion of the annual budgeting, including monitoring on budget performance Ability to manage the annual financial audit and implement requirements and recommendations Capacity to oversee insurance matters including management of annual renewal process Capacity to oversee and maintain staff contracts and relevant pay rates Ability to perform duties of Company Secretary, attending and preparing agendas, minute taking and action items from quarterly Board Meetings Experience in monitoring and updating School policies and procedures, as required Experience or active interest in developing an understanding of the Montessori philosophy and pedagogy Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload in a less structured environment Ability to use initiative, proactively seek solutions and accept guidance and feedback Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Be curious and engaged lifelong learner; and Have a growth mindset and is highly dedicated. Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Business
Experience in the education sector
Experience in a Montessori setting (highly desirable)
Current Working With Children Check for paid employment, or willingness to obtain;
