Details: Melrose High School is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Careers Officer to join our vibrant team. This position plays a crucial role in guiding students as they navigate their career pathways, ensuring they receive personalised support tailored to their individual aspirations and goals.
The Careers Officer will work closely with students, fostering a creative and engaging approach to career planning. This includes helping them identify their strengths, interests, and potential career options, as well as developing strategies to achieve their objectives.
In addition to student engagement, the Careers Officer will actively collaborate with local businesses and community stakeholders to enhance our Work Experience (WEX) Program. This program is specifically designed for Year 9 and 10 students at Melrose High School, and the Careers Officer will be instrumental in promoting it and securing valuable work experience opportunities. By building strong partnerships with local employers, the Careers Officer will help students gain practical, hands-on experience in various fields.
Furthermore, the role entails overseeing the Australian School-Based Apprenticeships (ASBA) and Vocational Learning Opportunities (VLO) programs. The Careers Officer will be responsible for arranging suitable placements that align with students' career goals and interests, ensuring that they receive the guidance and resources necessary to succeed in these programs.
Collaboration will also be a key aspect of this role, as the Careers Officer will work closely with the Student Engagement Team. By working under the guidance of the Executive of Student Engagement, the Careers Officer will contribute to a supportive environment that promotes student well-being and engagement in their career journeys.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: DESIRABLE First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake appropriate training.Certificate IV or equivalent e.g. Career Development, Training and Assessment.Note: Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
