Position InformationThe NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. We employ, develop and support teachers, leaders and other staff to deliver the best outcomes for students and to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people.
About the Role The School Administrative Manager is responsible for the efficient management of school financial and administrative systems, as well as supervision and training of school administration officers. Manages the provision of support for school activities and routines, including student welfare and wellbeing, and works with the school principal, the school executive and teaching staff as required.
Essential Requirements Working with Children Check Clearance First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training. Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs. Selection Criteria Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Capacity to supervise staff.
Demonstrated capacity to exercise initiative, organise resources and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to undertake financial and accounting responsibilities including use of computerised financial/administrative systems.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage an office.
Ability to interact with school staff, students and members of the school community.
Knowledge of and commitment to the department's Aboriginal education policy

Additional InformationMurwillumbah and Wollumbin High Schools merged in 2023. In 2025, Murwillumbah Learning Community High School will become Murwillumbah High School and Wollumbin High School on their original sites.
Murwillumbah High School will have an enrolment of approx 350 students, including 10% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 10% enrolment of students with English as an additional language or dialect. The school has a strong tradition of achievements in academic, cultural and sporting pursuits. Students have access to broad curriculum, including Big Picture and Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses. The special educationclasses provide comprehensive programs for students with special needs. Staff are committed and caring with a balance of early career and highly experienced teachers. Strong community partnerships have been formed with the school's educational community. Murwillumbah High School is recognised in the community as a leader in cretaive and performing arts and works in partnership with local primary school. Wollumbin High School with an enrolment of approx 260 students, including 13% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 4% enrolments of students with English as an additional language or dialect. Cohesive teams drive school improvement through a focus on student excellence, high expectations, engagement, collaboration and reflective practice. Students have access to a broad curriculum, including Big Picture and Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses. Special educacation classes will provide comprehensive programs for students with special needs. STaff are committed and caring with a balance of early career and highly experienced teachers. Partnerships with partner schools, parents and community are highly valued. Strong partnerships have been formed with an engaged and supportive school community.
