Job Description Quick overview of the role  
We are currently seeking an experienced Scheduler to join the team in a full-time capacity. This role is responsible for the translation of client engineering drawings and plans into reinforcing bar schedules for the production and dispatch of reinforcement to client sites. Reporting to the Scheduling Manager, this role is responsible for projects with multiple work facets. You will be responsible for optimising time management, ensuring efficient allocation of resources, and facilitating effective communication among various stakeholders. Your organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise tasks will be critical in this role. This position is based at Currumbin.
What will you be doing? Preparation of estimates and bar schedules for reinforcing across several projects concurrently, detailing grade, diameter, number, and shape of bars for production. Production of detailed and accurate marking plans showing the placement of reinforcing in projects. Production of CAD drawings as required for scheduling purposes. Entering scheduling information into scheduling software with a high degree of accuracy and consistency. Meet set tonnage targets per month. Liaising with production, transport staff, and contractors to meet lead times and deadlines. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment regarding schedules Maintaining good client relationships for projects under their control, including prompt problem-solving. Monitor and update schedules as needed, considering any changes or conflicts that may arise. Proactively identify and escalate any risks or threats to scheduling lead times and deadlines to the Scheduling Manager. Review current standardised procedures for Continuous Improvement activities. Maintain detailed knowledge of and ability to interpret and develop CAD drawings with accuracy. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and create efficiencies. Undertake other tasks as required and assigned by the Scheduling Manager. Desired Skills and Experience What are we looking for in the successful candidate? 5 years' experience in a similar role within the steel reinforcing industry Experience in Steel Fixing Previous experience in scheduling or administrative roles is preferred Experienced in problem-solving Strong mathematical skills especially trigonometry and analytical geometry Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs Excellent ability to plan and organise Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate changing schedules and priorities.
