THE ROLE PURPOSE AND SCOPE The Project Manager - Proposals Scheduler is a key member of the Project Development Office, within Amentum's Engineering, Projects, Integration & Construction (EPIC) team. Based in Alice Springs, this role will be responsible in supporting Schedule Development for the service and support of construction, operation, maintenance and management of facility assets, infrastructure and systems within the scope of Amentum programs and pursuits within Australia. This position plays an integral role within a diverse and complex work environment that is responsible for the support, development and control of critical infrastructure configuration, construction and project management.
The Project Manager – Proposals Scheduler will work closely with the Master Scheduler, Program Proposals team, Project Coordinator and Project Managers to set up, maintain, and update project schedules, and resources to ensure all relevant parties adhere to timelines and milestones, including costing, covering budget estimates, variations and contract pricing. Your knowledge in project scheduling will be pivotal in the successful implementation within the Project Development team and broader EPIC environment, to support in delivering a clear and robust scheduled solution which meet both the corporate and customer expectations and goals, all whilst aligning with relevant governing policies. This position will be required to integrate with stakeholders at all levels of the EPIC team in supporting the development of effective, efficient and timely schedules often under tight deadlines. Your attention to detail, organisational abilities, along with effective communication, both written and verbal, will be advantageous.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and maintain master schedules utilising MS Project, ensuring alignment with project objectives and milestones. Manage multiple proposal projects simultaneously and maintain real-time development status of all proposal projects. Collaborate closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure schedule adherence and successful project outcomes. Respond to requests for information in a timely fashion Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to gather project requirements and constraints. Manage dependencies across multiple concurrent delivery streams, anticipating and mitigating potential risks and delays. Generate high-level visibility reports and metrics to track progress and measure business benefits. Support project execution as assigned. Ensure, promote, and maintain health and safety practices/compliances at site and within the workplace. Any other reasonable duties as requested. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proven experience as a scheduler, preferably in large-scale, complex projects. Proficiency in MS Project or similar is essential. Proposal and Project Management process knowledge Document Management experience Relevant industry scheduling related qualifications Demonstrated experience in scheduling for construction projects, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change. SharePoint experience MS Office suite of tools with specifics to MS Excel. WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.
