This role is based in and works across all timber mills based in Mt Gambier.About the roleWe are currently seeking a Saw Technician to join the Saw Shop team. This is a critical role providing saw sharpening and maintenance service across all sections of the mill to a high standard in accordance with the expectations of a tradesperson.About youRecognised trade qualification in saw technology or associated qualification with significant experience relevant to Saw Shop activities.Experience in TCT Tipped Saws as well as stellite Tipping.An excellent knowledge of and experience in Saw Doctoring and the Sawmill industry, with preferential experience in High Strain Sawing, and high output sawing centres.Competency in Automated and CNC driven grinding equipment.Strong communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain productive and cohesive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities, plan and organise workloads, and achieve specified outcomes within a limited timeframe.Ability to work without close supervision and recognising times when matters require referral to the Management.Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise work and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to exercise sound judgement and decision making.Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.To succeed in this role you will demonstrate:Maintenance of all knives, bandsaws, circular saws, including T.C.T tipping, stellite tipping, side grinding, maintaining and servicing the mills as required.Maintenance of machinery in the Saw Shop including coolant changes, lubricants, preventative maintenance, carry out daily checks and servicing as per Saw Shop schedule.Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per Saw Shop internal housekeeping roster.Maintain all areas of the Saw Shop in a tidy and safe condition, ensuring items being worked on do not cause avoidable clutter, or present a hazard to yourself or others.Keep all machinery and tools clean and well maintained including safe storage clear from walkways.How to applyIf this sounds like the perfect job for you, please click Apply Now.
