What you'll doSatellite Systems Engineers contribute to the implementation, support, and maintenance of satellite access networks with a focus on RF and baseband technologies at satellite gateways and with user terminals.
The role manages performance and configuration of RF and baseband systems and deals with the resolution of day-to-day issues and faults.
They will ensure the effective resolution of satellite network issues to satisfactorily restore network performance and functionality.

The day-to-dayThis role is an intern Satellite Systems Engineer role that will work with other satellite systems engineers locally in Australia and will form part of the APAC Engineering team.
It is expected that the intern contributes software development and data analysis skills to automate and track satellite access network performance and status.

What you'll need
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Telecommunications Engineering, Satellite Communications, Electrical Engineering, or related subject area Hands-on development experience with Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript Knowledge of LINUX OS platform Knowledge of Microsoft data analytics platforms such as PowerBI Must be within commutable distance to the Melbourne Viasat office
What will help you on the job
Familiarity with satellite ground system network architecture and topologies Understanding of design and commissioning of modern digital radio communications systems, preferably involving satellite communications networks Understanding of radio systems and modulation schemes Familiarity with analysis of systems requirements, identification of gaps, and advising on implementable solutions Familiarity with networking and cloud computing concepts Hands-on development experience with Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript Experience with web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3 #J-18808-Ljbffr
