Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Engineering) Rome Research Corporation is a US employer to fill this position. Provide SATCOM/MUOS operations and maintenance in support of the NCTAMS PAC Hawaii O&M contract. This support is conducted in Australia on an Australian military facility located near the town of Geraldton Australia. Qualifications/Education: Must be a United States Citizen and hold a US Passport.U.S. Navy Electronics Technician "A", "C" or equivalent from an accredited college, Jr. College or technical school.Completion of SATCOM Maintainer course at Fort Gordon, GA or documented experience as a maintainer supporting various fixed based earth terminals, C, Ka and Ku.Documentation including course content required, DD Form 214 acceptable.Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II, have Security+ or higher certification.Must successfully complete required training to obtain APACS approval:Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) LEVEL I TrainingSERE 100.1Associates Degree or higher desired.Must have a Secret Clearance.Primary Duties: Primary duties include but not limited to the operation and maintenance of MUOS satellite communications earth terminals and all associated equipment in the MUOS/C2G2 facility on a 24 hour per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year on call basis.Operation of electronic test equipment.Operation of cryptographic equipment.Perform and/or assist in circuit troubleshooting, testing and fault isolation as required.Monitoring and reporting of any outages as they occur.Monitor MUOS overall status, Respond to FCAPs alerts and events, maintains system status database.Coordinates H/W & S/W upgrades, Configure data collection performance parameters.Perform organizational & direct support level maintenance on modems, multiplexers, up converters, down converters, power amplifiers, servo systems, frequency standards, satellite tracking systems, antenna mounted electronics (AME) and ancillary equipment.Perform appropriate testing, patching, configuration and reconfiguration of multiplexers, modems, up-converters and down-converters as required.Ensure safety of personnel and equipment.Tunes, adjusts, aligns and calibrates radio communications equipment and related equipment.Generate and post entries in maintenance and inspection records.Required Skills: Knowledge is mandatory of:Radio theory,Transistors and solid state components,Vacuum tube theory,Digital networks and associated timing issues.Familiar with the Electronic Key Management System (EKMS).3 yrs. general electronic preventive and corrective maintenance of HF, LF, VHF or ELF CE.Operate a variety of test instrumentation.Apply electronics and radio theory to maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, align, and repair CE systems.Read and understand schematic diagrams, tech orders, wire lists and blueprints.Additional Duties: Able to work rotating shifts.Able to lift 35lbs 3 ft. vertically.Able to carry 50lbs 50ft. w/o resting.Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.Available for irregular work hours.Able to respond to emergency calls 24/7/365.Required Experience: 5 yrs. experience technical experience in electronics, electricity, engineering, communications, physics, or in a similar field that provided technical knowledge and background that could be applied to the installation, operation, maintenance, testing, evaluation, or repair of satellite communications/electronic systems and equipment.Within the last four (4) yrs. two (2) yrs. of specialized experience in the theoretical and practical knowledge of satellite communications/electronic theory.Or, 2 yrs. specialized experience in the installation, operation, maintenance, testing, evaluation, or repair of the above or similar equipment at a military or commercial satellite communications facility.Minimum 2 yrs. experience in the use of technical operation and maintenance manuals, schematic diagrams, satellite communications test equipment such as scalar network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, synthesized sweep generators, RF power meters, digital test sets, oscilloscopes, digital millimeters, frequency counters, BER test sets and the application of appropriate electronic formulas.#J-18808-Ljbffr
