Role HighlightsOpportunity to join SA's premier high performance sport institute.Work across a broad range of Paralympic sports and disciplines.Based at SASI's new state-of-the-art high performance sport facility. Role DetailsThe SASI Sports Physiotherapist and Classification Lead will work collaboratively within the SASI Para-Sport Hub, a team that includes coaches and performance support professionals with the collective goal of recruiting and developing talented South Australian para-sport athletes. The outcome will be an increase in the number of categorised para-athletes in South Australia to enable greater representation and medal success at the LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Paralympic Games. A key priority of the role is the provision of quality sports physiotherapy services and leadership of para-sport classification to enable effective:
Talent identification and talent transfer initiatives,Sport selection for eligible athletes,Athlete classification across a range of para-sports,Athlete development, injury prevention and injury management,Integration and inclusion of para-athletes at SASI, through supporting coaches and fostering an understanding of physical, vision and intellectual impairment in the sport environment,Promotion of health, wellbeing and the mitigation or risk within the sport environment.The role involves extensive external stakeholder relationships with Paralympics Australia, National and State Sporting Organisations and the Australian Institute of Sport. As a new role in the national sport system, there will be a high degree of sharing, collaborating and learning, in line with the National 2032 Win Well High Performance Sport Strategy.
Special ConditionsThe Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.Some work outside of normal hours will be required.Some interstate travel involving overnight absences will be required.This role requires a working with children check.Essential Qualifications Undergraduate Degree in Physiotherapy.Post-graduate Degree in Sports Physiotherapy or equivalent.Experience and knowledge of high performance para-sport.Experience with Para-sport classification.Registered (or ability to register) with AHRPRA.
