YOUR FUTURE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (f/m/d) in the areas of Business Technology Platform (BTP) - within the Technology & Engineering unit of the Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations team in the Platform Engineering board area.
In this role, you will join the Sovereign Cloud Platform engineering team. We build, harden, and operate the SAP Sovereign Cloud environments used as reference by the regional Operations teams. You will be working closely with SAP product teams, technical product managers, developers, security experts, and regional operators. You will be working on deployment automation, product operations/deployments, deployment documentation, as well as supporting SAP Sovereign Cloud regional operations teams.
What you bring Due to the classified nature of our work, your willingness is required to subject yourself to a governmental security clearance process and thus have an NV1, EU, NATO or FIVE EYES country member nationality. Besides that you bring:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience.10+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role.Expert proficiency with Git, Terraform, Kubernetes, and other infrastructure automation toolsets.Deep expertise with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and an in-depth understanding of their offerings.Significant experience in network, server, and application-status monitoring.Proven ability to lead and improve software-automation production systems.Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Comprehensive understanding of scalable computing systems.Excellent communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes with team and management.Expertise in scripting languages Python and Bash.Nice to Have: Experience with deploying and maintaining SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).Advanced knowledge of distributed data processing systems such as Kafka, Hadoop, Cassandra.Certification in AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.Responsibilities: Independently handle the development, maintenance, and improvement of our continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline using cloud services and automation tools.Use Terraform for advanced cloud resource provisioning and management.Implement automated infrastructure capabilities like backups, security tools, monitoring.Design and implement enterprise-grade, scalable cloud-based services to support our development teams.Collaborate with developers to optimize the application development workflow.Troubleshoot complex system issues and provide advanced technical support to the team.Advocate for and implement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management.Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes.If necessary, deploy and maintain SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) in cloud environments.Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the company excel.Bring out your best SAP innovations help more than four hundred thousand customers worldwide work together more efficiently and use business insight more effectively.
