Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced SAP BASIS/HANA Engineer to join their Canberra team.
This is a contract role until December 2024 with a 24-month extension option.

As the SAP BASIS / HANA Engineer, you will use your in-depth knowledge of specific ICT platforms to provide expert advice on the management and maintenance of those platforms.
You will work closely with key 3rd party suppliers to ensure the provision of a robust infrastructure capability to the business and liaise with architecture and shared services areas to ensure the security of the day-to-day technical operations.
To be successful in this role you must: Monitor all SAP systems (work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space, etc.) System Landscape Configurations and Operations Batch jobs creation, controlling and all management operations All backup operations for SAP system Perform SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import client) as required Maintain the integrity of the SAP environment by managing the SAP Correction and Transport System (CTS) to ensure all configuration and development objects are promoted properly.
SAP Kernel Upgrades Implementing SAP OSS Notes Applying SAP Add-Ons and Support Packages SAP BASIS Configuration Tasks: Install, Configure, Migrations, Upgrade and Integration of all Components.
Develop and maintain system documentation for all SAP instances and interfaces.
Implement and maintain the multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP environment (sandbox, development, quality assurance (test), preproduction, training and production).
HANA Specific Duties will include: Setup roles for admin, consumers, HANA modelers.
Initial configuration of HANA Server - Parameters such max number of rows.
Create Schemas on HANA Server Create and schedule regular backup Install stand-alone SLT Replication Server Create and configure connection SLT to HANA Initial configuration of SLT Replication Server Setup roles, users, jobs in SLT Configure alerts in HANA for memory consumption Experienced in SAP HANA Database installations and implementations.
Monitoring SAP HANA system landscape Starting and stopping of SAP HANA systems Creating database users and roles in HANA studio HANA database security.
Experienced in using various HANA database tools like HANA studio, HLM, HDMLCM Scheduling regular backups of HANA system To be considered for this role: Must have 3 years or more BASIS experience in a large and complex environment Must have experience with Transport Management via Charm Must have experience with Oracle and DB2 on Z as the database platform for SAP Applications When inquiring about this role you must quote the job number #267109.
