Job Description An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, hands-on Sample Receipt Officer has become available at SGS, in our Alexandria, NSW laboratory.
As a member of the team, you will assist management in maintaining SGS's capability to analyse soil, water, and air samples.
In particular, you will provide support to the Sample Log-in operations and ensure timely services are provided.
Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to: Sorting samples upon arrival and ensuring samples are identified, labelled, temperature is taken, and stored correctly.
Pre-registration and/or full registration in SLIM.
Providing assistance/support to the team by logging in and/or cross-checking entries.
Liaising with clients to ensure satisfactory customer-focused services are provided.
Upon arrival, ensuring all sample containers are cleaned and housekeeping is well maintained to prevent contamination during log-in and sub-sampling processes.
Training new staff in appropriate procedures.
Ensuring expected standards of quality are applied in line with SGS's quality policy and NATA accreditation requirements.
Ensuring that safety equipment is used where necessary, used correctly, and used at all times.
Performing other duties as directed by the Sample Administration Manager.
Qualifications Appropriate tertiary qualification Commercial laboratory experience preferred Capability and willingness to perform heavy lifting.
