As a Sample Receipt and Logistics Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our sample handling and logistics processes. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include promptly filling and dispatching bottle orders, maintaining well-organized stock areas, and accurately receiving and registering client samples. Essential skills include a keen attention to detail, excellent computer proficiency, and strong organisational abilities. A positive, customer-focused attitude and a solid understanding of laboratory safety and chemical hazards are crucial for success in this role.
The day to day Bottle orders filled and dispatched in a timely manner. Maintain stocks and keep areas well organised. Receive deliveries and register client samples. Ensuring phone calls and emails are answered promptly and professionally. Arrange couriers and prepare freight for dispatch. Ensuring sample deliveries and COC's are reviewed/triaged, labelled and distributed within designated timeframes and according to client needs and approved sample receipt procedures. Provide administrative support as required. Ensure accurate and timely registration (receipt to committal and billing) of client sample details and test requirements. Organising and coordinating the delivery of bottle orders to clients. Communicate with clients, Client Services and laboratory staff when anomalies occur. Liaising with other ALS environmental staff at different locations. Accurately enter information from the clients CoC documentation into the ALS LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). Maintaining a professional image of ALS clients. The Essentials A positive, responsive customer focus and quality service attitude with a professional attitude. Superior attention to detail and a commitment to complete high quality work. Excellent computer skills including MS Office suite; experience with a LIMS system would be beneficial. Ability to process multiple concurrent requests efficiently and accurately. An understanding of laboratory safety and chemical hazards.
