Opportunities for multi-skilling within the department are available, with the potential for advancement into leadership roles.This is a residential role, and you must be residing or planning on relocating to the Kalgoorlie Boulder Region with current Australian work rights to be considered.The day to dayThis is a leadership role with the following responsibilities:Coordinating production for your shift (day, afternoon, or night shift)Ensuring shift tasks are completed and coordination of shift hand-overAssisting in troubleshootingTraining and supervising staffAssisting with operations when neededTraining staff in operating mineral sample preparation equipment (sample sorting, drying, weighing samples using a balance and LIMS system, crushing samples, etc.
)The EssentialsThe successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:An understanding of the sample preparation process or experience with ALS systemsDemonstrable experience in the lab industryAbility to work with minimum supervisionAbility to lead, supervise and instruct team membersBe flexible and able to multi-taskAvailability to work rotating shiftsExcellent communication, organization, and time management skillsA strong commitment to safety and client serviceExcellent attention to detailThis is a challenging role, and although safety and quality of work must be maintained, the ability to work at a pace that suits the demands of the position is essential.Working at ALSOur people drive our success at ALS.
