Southern Adelaide Local Health Network – Flinders Medical Centre – Surgery and Perioperative MedicineSalary $128,327.00 - $133,758.00 (Pro Rata) RN/M4| Full Time – Ongoing An exciting opportunity exists within the Perioperative Services team for an Advanced Nurse Consultant to join us on an ongoing basis, working in a full-time capacity.The Perioperative Advanced Nurse Consultant is responsible for the Quality, Safety and Risk Portfolios within Perioperative Services at SALHN consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Standards.About the role:Reporting to the Perioperative Nursing Director this role is involved in leading, managing, overseeing and advising on nursing clinical practice addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy.Duties for the role will include: Overseeing the development and monitoring the suite of procedures, protocols and staff information sheets relating to perioperative services in accordance with evidence based best practice underpinned by ACORN and other relevant Standards.Creation and maintenance of the perioperative audit schedule working with NUM's and Clinical Nurses to ensure that the PDSA cycle is effective.Being a risk champion, facilitating identified risks to progress to the SALHN Risk Register and ongoing maintenanceMaintains close collaborative working relationships with all level 3 and level 4 Nurses.Maintains cooperative and productive working relationships within all members of the health care team.
About you: Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skillsExperience as a leader or manager in the health care industryRegistered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificateExperience in managing and leading complex projectsProven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards Please see the attached Role Description for additional information.
