The Role The Salesforce Engineer role is responsible for the configuration, development and administration of Salesforce workloads that enable AARNet to efficiently sell and support its network services and products. The role is responsible for the delivery of high-quality software solutions, utilizing both SaaS and containerized applications running on private clouds.

Responsibilities Salesforce Administration & Engineering: Solid experience in Salesforce development - Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Component. Tailor and customise Salesforce to meet business requirements using basic platform customisations. Extensive experience with Portal (Experience Cloud), CPQ (Revenue Cloud) and Service Management. Demonstrated knowledge of Rules, Flows, and Validations. Demonstrated knowledge of Data loader and Inspector. Demonstrated knowledge of Platform Events and CDC architecture. Hands-on experience in administration e.g., managing users, security, and data as well as creating roles, profiles, and reports. Managing permissions, sharing rules and organisation wide defaults. Work with Internal and External stakeholders including vendors, third parties and technical support. Apply best practice security measures, conduct audits, and review data management processes. Solution guides documentation and Train new users on using Salesforce. Application Architecture: Contribute to enterprise and data architecture plans and support refinement of enterprise roadmaps. Work with business stakeholders to understand and refine requirements. Assess potential applications and solutions for alignment with both business and operational requirements. Contribute to analyzing risks and dependencies in solution design. Optimise the value extracted from each system by ensuring AARNet fully capitalizes on the inherent capabilities provided by the system. System Integration: Deliver end to end integrated application solutions to fulfill business requirements utilizing Salesforce. Deploy applications and implement changes within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as part of an Agile DevOps team. Configure integration between systems using best practice integration patterns for given scenarios. Tailor and customize systems to meet business requirements, considering technical debt, and push back on non-standard requirements when necessary. Effective knowledge and demonstration of CI/CD pipeline processes. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and other teams to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure successful project outcomes. Translate technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders, facilitating effective communication. Expertise, experience & qualifications Experience in software development, network automation, integrations, and OSS/BSS model implementation. Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.). Familiarity with OSS/BSS models, telecom industry practices, and service delivery optimization. Strong technical background in programming languages (Python, Java, etc.), automation tools (Ansible, etc.), Integrations (Boomi, MuleSoft, etc.) and CRM (Salesforce, etc.) implementation and customization. Salesforce Administrator certification. Big picture thinker who identifies future opportunities. Important skills Proficient in utilizing GitLab for version control and CI/CD, with a demonstrated ability to establish and optimize branching strategies for efficient code management. Experience in deploying and managing Salesforce applications using Gearset, showcasing an understanding of deployment automation and version control within the Salesforce ecosystem. Skilled in implementing and managing OwnBackup solutions, demonstrating expertise in creating reliable backup and recovery processes for Salesforce data and ensuring data integrity and compliance.
