What are some example projects or experiences?Salespeople support all types of rail organisations. You could land a role selling construction materials that are vital to building our rail networks or selling innovative railway infrastructure solutions for a rail maintenance company.
What is the work environment like?You may work alone or in a team of salespeople. You'll usually be given sales targets, and will need to manage your time well to achieve your goals. Sometimes you'll work in an office, researching potential customers and engaging with them by phone or email. Other times you will meet customers at their office or another location. You may need to regularly attend conferences and networking events. Salespeople usually travel a lot as part of their role.
You can find work as a salesperson all around Australia. Most jobs are in cities and towns. Some are in remote areas.
QualificationsYou usually don't need any qualifications to be a salesperson. But a diploma or degree in sales, marketing, communications, or commerce will give you useful skills for the role. Our industry values diverse personal and work experience. Many employers can provide you with opportunities to gain new qualifications and industry experience to help you succeed.
