The Position
We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Sales / Business Manager to lead our Canberra team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional with a hands-on approach to managing a small sales and warehouse team. This role requires active involvement in driving sales growth while also overseeing the daily operations of our warehouse to ensure logistical efficiency.
Scope of the Role:
As the Business Manager, you will be responsible for managing key accounts and ensuring the sales and warehouse teams receive the direction and support required to be successful.
Your Key Areas of Responsibility:
Key Accounts: Actively manage key accounts to achieve budget, grow new business, and strengthen relationships with existing clients. Sales Leadership: Lead, motivate, and mentor the Sales Team to achieve budget and KPIs. Provide day-to-day support to the team to drive sales and GP revenue growth. Customer Relationships: Develop strong professional working relationships with new and existing customers (internal and external - large and small). Branch Operations: Ensure excellence in safety, clear processes, and compliance with legislation and company policies to deliver efficient operations. Recruitment and Training: Recruit, onboard, and develop new team members. Provide hands-on coaching, training, and mentoring to foster a high-performance culture in sales and warehouse. Business Development: Implement strategies to expand our market and grow revenue within the ACT and surrounding areas. Warehouse & Logistics: Provide management and support to the warehouse supervisor and team to ensure efficient inventory management, cyclic stock takes, cost-efficient transport, and timely deliveries. Safety and Compliance: Ensure safety requirements are adhered to, including monthly safety audits, toolbox meetings, and incident reporting. Minimum Requirements:
Demonstrated experience as a high-performing sales professional with a focus on B2B Sales. Experience managing a small business involving sales and logistics. The ability to lead a sales team to meet budget and KPIs and grow the business. Proven hands-on experience in managing a sales territory and achieving sales targets. Willingness to work hands-on in the warehouse when required to meet deadlines. Experience in business development and the ability to grow GP and revenue. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and facilitate change. High energy, with a sense of urgency and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to oversee warehouse operations, ensuring logistical efficiency and safety compliance. Experience gained in the hospitality or catering industry. Experience using Pronto POS software would be an advantage. Qualifications in Sales/Business or other relevant discipline.
