We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our busy team, ideally based in our Tonsley office, just 20 minutes south of Adelaide CBD.
Reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, implementing, managing, remediating, and maintaining cybersecurity controls to protect the company's sensitive data, networks, and systems. This role will involve proactive threat identification and remediation, vulnerability management, and support of the company's ongoing commitment to cyber security compliance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and manage security controls to protect the organization's IT infrastructure, systems, and data. Perform regular security assessments, including penetration testing and vulnerability scans, and provide recommendations for remediation. Monitor security systems, analyse incidents, and respond to security breaches to minimize damage and ensure continuity. Implement and maintain endpoint protection, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security technologies. Collaborate with IT team to ensure secure configuration of networks, servers, and applications. Support compliance efforts including adherence to relevant standards such as ISO 27001, DISP, and ASD Essential 8. Support IT projects by providing security expertise during planning, design, and implementation phases. Support cybersecurity awareness training for staff to mitigate human-related risks. Document and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures and playbooks. Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices to advise on necessary adjustments to the company's security posture. Essential Skills and Experience: Appropriate ICT Engineering or Cyber Security qualification or at least 5 years industry experience. Advanced knowledge and exposure on various standards and industry trends. Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management platforms. Experience with compliance frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001, and ASD Essential 8. In-depth knowledge of network and endpoint security, system hardening, and encryption technologies. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a focus on pragmatic solutions. Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage with key stakeholders at all levels.
