HR Partners by Randstad has an opportunity for a Safety & Training Officer to join a government client in Brisbane's CBD. This role is a 6-month temp position with a potential for extension. This role would suit an individual wanting to work in the back end and get into the details, work on systems and updates with legislation and risk.Flexibility with hours and 2 days WFHGreat team with a laid-back culture yet strong desire to perform and achieve goalsAttractive hourly rateAbout the role:Assist in the implementation and review of the Technical Services Health and Safety Strategy as part of the broader requirements.Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety plans, procedures, systems, and processes, which support the organisation to effectively deliver business outcomes.Support the development, coordination, and implementation of an auditing schedule to facilitate continual improvement of the Technical Services HSEMS.Assist in the development of statistical reports on the performance of the HSEMS and associated projects to facilitate management review and continual improvement.Understand and incorporate project and operational risk assessment processes into management plans and be able to facilitate workshops to characterise relevant risks and controls.Contribute to the development and delivery of health and safety programs which support management and staff in meeting legislative compliance and strategic objectives.Assist in the review of the training needs analysis for the Business Unit liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure its ongoing effectiveness.Liaise with key stakeholders with the aim of influencing and contributing to the strategies to the work health and safety agenda.Provide support in ensuring the Technical Services HSEMS is developed in compliance with relevant legislation where required.Other duties as directed and required.About the individual:A relevant Cert IV/diploma/degree in WHS, OHS is highly desirable.A relevant qualification in training and assessment is desirable.Working knowledge of WHS legislation and its application.Experience in a similar safety/training role, with a focus on systems/risk management and processes.Government experience highly regarded but not required.At HR Partners by Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all.
