THE ROLEAs the Safety Specialist you will provide expert advice, support the management teams and employees, by championing key safety initiatives to enhance health and wellbeing.
You will work closely with the wider team to drive the national safety strategy within your region.
Your ability to build strong relationships, and implement effective controls to manage safety risks across the business unit will be the key to your success.
You will join a team dedicated to resolving challenges and making a positive impact on people and the business through supportive guidance, knowledge sharing, coaching, and practical risk management programs.
Key Responsibilities: Coach supervisors, HSRs, and managers on safety leadership, culture, and standardsProvide insights and analysis on safety metricsMonitor and support local implementation of safety management systemsGuide operational teams in improving risk awareness and reduction programsSupport timely, quality incident investigations, focusing on root causes and actionsShare safety learnings across the team, promoting storytelling to enhance safety cultureEXPERIENCE FOR SUCCESS Minimum 5 years' experience in a safety advisory role within a large organisationSkilled in interpreting and applying safety legislation, policies, and proceduresHands-on experience with safety management systems and implementationAbility to simplify complex concepts for clear communicationProven skills in investigation, auditing, analysis, and providing sound, solution-oriented adviceAPPLYAt The Safe Step we embrace individuality and differences in gender, age, ethnicity, race, cultural background, disability, faith and sexual orientation.
