As an experienced Safety Specialist, you will be accountable for providing support.
This role will work across Petstock Group and will functionally partner with the Pet Culture team and other stakeholders to drive end-to-end lifecycle management of safety in design, with a specific focus on automation, plant and machinery from concept/ideation, detailed design, procurement, manufacturer, install, operate & maintain, through to decommission and dispose.
The Opportunity located in our Ballarat Support Office.
Lead and ensure completion of work identified through safety review, including safety by design, automation and machinery & plant, whilst also supporting and assisting the team to drive a proactive safety approach and culture throughout Pet Culture.
Support defining organisational safety engineering risk assessment methodology, including risk tolerances and make recommendations to management on opportunities for corporate risk mitigation.
Leading or supporting safety performance requirements for design, factory and site acceptance testing/validation during commissioning and launch phases; along with site operational risk reviews.
Advise Petstock & Pet Culture leaders on emerging trends internally (e.g., lead and lag indicators) and externally (e.g., legislation and industry) and potential impact on roadmaps and strategy.
Establish, maintain and leverage industry partnerships to support safety engineering programs.

At least 8 years work experience within a safety engineer or equivalent role.
Bachelor degree, preferably in Engineering, Safety or direct related field.
Strong experience with industry leading Safety in Design frameworks; including application of both WHS regulations and relevant AU/NZ and ISO Standards.
Experience with robotics and automated conveyor systems.
Strong knowledge and experience of supplier risk management, along with the material risks.
