Safety Manager

Deakin's Institute for Frontier Materials is seeking a Safety Manager to join their team. My client is Australia's largest materials research institute – linking world-class materials science research with industry to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing business and society. In this role you will be responsible for developing and leading safety and safety systems, driving compliance, and ensuring adherence to external OHS standards set by government organisations such as Work Safe and the Department of Agriculture. Our ideal candidate is a leader and pioneer in identifying, developing, and implementing new opportunities and practices in health and safety. They will be responsible for developing policies and procedures in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, implementing changes to drive continuous improvement and best practice, and providing specialist advice in relation to OHS matters. The Safety Manager will lead and drive a safety culture and systems that ensure compliance in all aspects of OHS. They will also develop inclusive relationships with external organisations in strategic areas to implement new strategies and drive Deakin's performance.
