Safety Management Systems (SMS) Auditor (WHS focus) About the role Airbus has an opportunity for a Safety Management System (SMS) Auditor to join our Brisbane based team on an initial6 month fixed term opportunity(with possible extension).
As the Safety Management Systems Auditor, you will work closely with a large and inclusive team of technical experts focused on success.
This role is responsible for conducting audits against the company's Integrated Safety Management System (iSMS). Although the SMS is within an aviation environment, the audits will focus on the WHS elements of our SMS, to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, contractual, and Airbus Australia Pacific (AAP) mandatory requirements.
Audits are conducted across the following internal functions:
Maintenance Flight Operations Material Support & Logistics Corporate Functional Lines Reporting to the Senior Manager Quality, this role requires to work closely with the Manager Safety Operations, the Site Safety Specialists as well as local management teams and provide reporting and advice to the Executive Leadership Team.

You will have a strong analytical mind with well-developed problem solving skills, along with a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. You will also show effective planning, organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage competing deadlines and timeframes.
The skills and experience suited to this role include:
Minimum 10 years' safety audit experience Minimum 7 years' experience in WHS compliance and ISO45001 In-depth knowledge and understanding of the WHS Act and Regulations In-depth knowledge of ISO45001 Knowledge of Work, Health and Safety Management Systems Diploma of WHS SMS Certification Lead Auditor certification through an accredited training organisation You must be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment medical screening which may include drug and alcohol testing.
