The Nathan River Resources mine site is located 50km inland from the Gulf of Carpentaria and approximately 760km from Darwin.
We are the proud owner and operator of the Roper Bar Iron Ore Mine, managing a fleet of mine and marine assets dedicated to our operations.
About this role:
Providing proactive and autonomous safety management support to all departments of Nathan River, including compliance with legislative requirements, reporting and investigations of hazards and incidents, hazard and risk management, adherence to company policies, and development, maintenance, and implementation of the company safety management system and its components.
Key responsibilities will be but not limited to:
Working collaboratively with Managers, Superintendents, and Supervisors to provide safety management support to all departments, officers, and workers of Nathan River; Promoting compliance with company policies that contribute to a safe work culture, safe work practices, and legislated duty of care; Consulting with officers, workers, and contractors to ensure implementation of the company's safety management system and its specific components; Participating in developing and maintaining the company's safety management system and its components; Promoting and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements relevant to a safe workplace, including but not limited to the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011 , associated regulations, and approved codes of practice; Supporting and assisting with timely incident and hazard reporting and scene management where applicable; Supporting and assisting with timely investigation processes from incident and hazard reports and developing, assigning, and/or implementing actions as controls from such investigations; Roster: 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off FIFO ex Darwin
To be considered for a role you must have the following skills and experience:
Recognized tertiary qualifications in health and safety (minimum Cert IV Work Health & Safety) Demonstrated experience in a similar HSEQ role within the mining industry.
Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety regulations Understanding of Environmental regulations, Chain of Responsibility regulations.
Proficient in MS Office Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including consultation and negotiation skills Your application will include the following questions:
