Safety & Facilities Coordinator, Program Specialist 5 (Non-Permanent)Office of Administrative HearingsHeadquarters Division NOTE: This position is eligible for part-time telework of 2-3 days per week.
Much of this position's work will be performed at one of our OAH facilities, which are located in Olympia, Tacoma, Seattle, and Spokane Valley.
If working remotely, the alternate worksite must be located in Washington state.NOTE: This position is eligible for PEBB and PERS benefits. The Opportunity:OAH is currently looking to fill a non-permanent Safety & Facilities Coordinator (Program Specialist 5) position in our Headquarters division.
The initial appointment is anticipated to be 12 months.This position is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring the agency's safety program and facilities plan.
The incumbent will perform a wide scope of complex duties and responsibilities which involve program management, project management, budgeting, and contract administration.The Safety & Facilities Coordinator is responsible for ensuring agency compliance with health and safety laws and rules and collective bargaining agreements, including the Department of Labor's Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) and the Washington Industrial Safety & Health Act (WISHA).
Responsibilities for facilities and space planning include working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including Executive Management Team members, Legal Administrative Managers, Department of Enterprise Services and the Office of Financial Management.
The Safety & Facilities Coordinator will work with local management to oversee safety, security, and facilities protocols of agency's four geographically dispersed facilities (Olympia, Tacoma, Seattle, and Spokane Valley).Required education and/or experience:Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, business, public administration or allied field, or equivalent experience; ANDFour years professional experience involving safety and/or facilities management or coordination.Knowledge of safety rules, security protocols, and emergency preparednessExperience managing and monitoring a program or department to ensure effectiveness and compliance.Excellent organizational and workload management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar softwareHow to apply:To begin the online application process, click the green "Apply" button on this announcement on careers.wa.gov or governmentjobs.com.
