About the role:
As a Safety Coordinator, you will coordinate and manage safety risks on-site to meet organisational and project goals, ensuring compliance with SWC safety policies and fostering a positive safety culture. Promote compliance with SWC standards, client specifications, and relevant legislation.
Key Accountabilities:
Mentor site personnel to improve workplace safety. Support Project Manager with safety systems, plans, and strategies. Conduct site audits, providing feedback and recommendations. Identify risks and opportunities to enhance Safety Management. Advise Project Manager on safety matters for site operations. Manage Injury Rehabilitation and Return to Work processes. Stay updated on legislation, industry standards, and technology. Foster a transparent and proactive safety culture on-site. The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations. The ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Experience in the construction or infrastructure industry would be highly advantageous. Knowledge of Plant Operations. Emergency Response Training. 3+ years' experience in a similar position in the Civil/Construction or relevant industry. Demonstrated high regard and understanding of safety principles. Ability to develop a good rapport with site staff, management, client representatives and auditors. Driver's licence.
