About the Role As the Safety and Compliance Coordinator, you will be at the heart of ensuring a safe, compliant, and thriving environment for students and staff alike.
Reporting to the Director of Safety & Compliance, your role will involve managing daily operations, driving risk assessments, overseeing provider compliance, and coordinating workplace health and safety initiatives.
You will also play a crucial role in shaping the school's compliance strategies to meet legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities include; Lead the preparation of policy updates and manage the College's hazard register.
Conduct blue card audits and ensure mandatory training compliance for all staff and contractors.
Manage risk assessment templates and maintain due diligence registers for activities, events, and providers.
Oversee new employee inductions, allocate mandatory training, and track training completion.
Ensure all permits and licenses are up to date while managing regulatory compliance with government bodies.
Provide monthly WHS incident reports and maintain emergency management equipment.
Conduct WHS inspections and ensure adherence to risk and safety standards.
Coordinate key Risk and WHS committee meetings, including report preparation and minute-taking.
About You You're a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a passion to assist and learn the safety and compliance side.
Ideally, you have experience in risk assessments, compliance management, or a related field, but you're also quick to learn and adapt.
Your strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel, make you efficient in managing complex tasks, reporting, and data.
You thrive working independently while being a reliable team player, able to build relationships with staff, providers, and contractors at all levels.
Your exceptional organizational skills mean you handle competing priorities with ease, always meeting deadlines with precision.
Most importantly, you hold a valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check), or you're eligible to obtain one.
