Safety Specialist

We are currently working with a Tier 1 mining company who is looking to engage an experienced Safety Specialist.

Our client is committed to safety, sustainability and operate with a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring a safe and rewarding workplace for all employees.

Duration:
3 to 6 months, with potential for permanent placement.

Roster:
8 days on, 6 days off.

Responsibilities: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Provide expert advice on safety protocols and procedures to all levels of staff, contractors, and visitors.Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards, and recommend corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.Develop and deliver safety training programs and inductions for new and existing employees.Collaborate with site management to implement safety initiatives and promote a positive safety culture.Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.Requirements: Proven experience as a Safety Advisor or similar role in the mining industry.In-depth knowledge of mining safety regulations and practices.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.Certification or qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) or related field.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Willingness to travel to various sites as required.Benefits: Competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience.Opportunity to work with a respected industry leader.Potential for career advancement and permanent placement based on performance.
