Our Flood Restoration Portfolio (FRP) is the principal delivery agency for restoring the Councils' and Community assets. Over the coming months, the team will grow exponentially, offering exciting opportunities for personal and professional development as we deliver many rebuild and transformation projects for our community. With a focus on driving a strong safety culture, the Safety Advisors will play a key role in supporting our on-site functions while providing accurate and timely advice to Stakeholders, the community, and management.

What we trust you to deliver Assisting in maintaining and monitoring all WHS Statutory requirements for the portfolio and sites, including the statutory reporting requirements. Providing advice, training, consultation, monitoring, and governance to support stakeholders and ensure all relevant WH&S legislation, Council policies, and procedures are implemented and effective. Providing critical legislative and organization updates as required. Promoting the development of a strong safety, health, environment, and quality culture to support a safe and caring working environment. Actively training and coaching operational and project teams. Monitoring and conducting regular HSE governance checks. Delivery Toolbox and inductions. Actively reviewing and maintaining procedures and processes to deliver continuous improvement. Managing various matters in an environment of conflicting priorities, including complementing safety audits. What you'll need to be successful Minimum certificate 4 in OH&S management; ideally, a Diploma-level qualification in a relevant safety discipline. TAE40122 - Certificate in Training and Assessment. Strong experience in a similar site-based construction and Local Government role. Strong Safety Commitment - proactively aware of your safety and that of others. Robust understanding of the WHS Act and Regulations and Safe Work NSW. Additional details Attractive remuneration for the right candidate. This position is a full-time (70 Hrs per fortnight), term-based appointment until 31 December 2026. Health & Wellbeing and Employee Assistance Program. A series of pre-employment evaluations may include, but are not limited to, health assessments, validation of qualifications and licenses, criminal history verification, psychometric assessments, and reference checks before employment. This recruitment exercise may be used for future vacancies, and within six months, a merit list for future opportunities may be established.
