Your Role
Reporting to the GM of Safety and Sustainability you will be a member of a close-knit team supporting the clients cotton ginning portfolio and chickpeas in Queensland and NSW. The role is one of safety leadership, ensuring site managers have the support, training, processes, communication and incident management in place to ensure operational excellence. Your role, supporting the safety management system includes:
Reviewing and updating risk assessments ensuring all operational changes are reviewed. Updating and simplifying work procedures. Taking a lead role in the induction and training of seasonal staff. Reviewing and ensuring all high-risk activities and permitted activities are conducted correctly. Managing communication processes to ensure feedback from the managers and staff are captured to continuously improve and capture new hazards. Supporting the build of a behavioral safety culture. Capturing relevant data and producing management reports. Depending on where you are located this role will require you to travel and spend nights away from home. You will be provided with a fully maintained company vehicle which includes private use.
You
To be considered for this role you will have at least 5-years' experience as a safety professional and at least 10 years in a related industry. You will have:
Knowledge of the safety legislation and regulations pertaining to primary and secondary agricultural production. Skills in hazard identification and risk assessment. Excellent communication, coaching and training skills. The drive and energy to take initiative, pay close attention to detail and follow up. Root cause analysis, investigative, and project management skills. Fire safety and emergency response planning skills. Experience with permits to work.
