Collaborate with diverse teams to foster a safer community.Join Holmesglen to support the holistic health and welfare of students.Opportunity to work across all major Holmesglen campuses.THE OPPORTUNITY Salary: $92,375 - $101,744 per annum pro rata + 11.5 % super + annual leave loading (depending on qualifications and experience).Time Fraction: Full Time, 1.0 EFT.Location: Across all major Holmesglen campuses.WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an 'employee' Working with Children Check.Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.Position Status: Ongoing contract of employment, with a 6-month qualifying period.
The Student Wellbeing Department provides comprehensive counselling and welfare services to support the holistic health and welfare of students.
This encompasses providing short-term counselling sessions, crisis intervention and mental health support services across all Holmesglen campuses.
Through collaboration with Holmesglen departments and community resources, the department supports students to access necessary support systems to navigate challenges, promote resilience and foster a positive educational and personal experience.
Holmesglen is seeking a dedicated Safer Community Team Lead to join our Student Wellbeing department.
In this pivotal role, you will act as the first point of contact for staff and student disclosures of incidents related to unsafe or concerning behaviour.
You will contribute to the ongoing development of the Safer Community model by embedding primary prevention activities and respectful relationship's education into student and staff programs.
Coordinating operational delivery, including case allocation and staff management, will be a key aspect of the role.
As a leader, you will chair the Safer Community Committee and provide direct case management support, including risk assessments and safety planning.
Analysing incident trends and building strong professional relationships across the Institute will be essential.

ABOUT YOU A degree with at least four years of relevant experience or equivalent qualifications/training, along with eligibility or registration with a professional association.Demonstrated clinical expertise in providing therapeutic services, with a strong focus on risk assessment, intervention, and trauma-informed care.Experience in crisis intervention, working with diverse populations while maintaining a commitment to professional ethics and empathy for all parties involved.Proven ability to assess complex situations quickly and accurately to inform responses, with strong skills in case management and safety planning.Knowledge of relevant policies, including Child Safety and OH&S, and a solid understanding of external referral agencies for student support.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively across teams, manage sensitive issues, and draft precise case notes and reports for management.Registration or eligibility for registration with an appropriate professional association/body.ABOUT US Holmesglen is a leading education provider, valued by local and international learners, industry and the community.
