The Safer Community Advisor is responsible for the intake, triage, assessment, investigation, and risk management of problem behaviours referred to the Safer Community service.
This service acts as the central point for enquiries, reporting, assessment, and coordination of issues such as problem behaviours, sexual harassment and assault, domestic and family violence, and child safety matters affecting students.
Working closely with other Safer Community Advisors and the Manager, Safer Community, the role also plays a key part in developing and managing prevention and awareness initiatives.
These initiatives aim to reduce instances of inappropriate, concerning, or threatening behaviours while fostering a safer and more informed community.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
Strong interpersonal skills, including managing persons in crisis and those who are highly emotional, aggressive or suicidalDemonstrated skills experience in working with a multidisciplinary team, including managing behavioural risks in a frontline serviceHighly-developed report-writing and presentation skills and proven ability to communicate effectively to a broad range of individuals and groups from diverse educational and cultural backgroundsDemonstrated ability to be sensitive, analytical and flexible in case formulation and liaison between persons of concern, targets of risk, and the organisationQualifications
Tertiary qualifications and relevant experience in areas of social work, psychology, legal, public health, or related disciplines.
