At the American Red Cross, your uniqueness can shine! WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): Coordinate the overall interdisciplinary client care plan, from assessment to case closure. Provide crisis intervention and assist families in understanding implications and complexities of their situation. Determine, implement and facilitate coordination of emergency services and assistance. Act as a liaison between client/family, Red Cross and community resources to ensure necessary assistance is provided promptly and effectively. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations. 1: Interview client and family, coordinate and plan services to meet immediate and ongoing needs. Determine appropriate services, assist within activity protocols to meet service member and/or family circumstances, and provide accurate and appropriate casework documentation. 2: Identify and address psychosocial needs of client and family members. Assist with coping skills, stress management and anticipatory grief and grief reaction. Provide crisis intervention service to help clients minimize impact of emergency-caused displacements, disruptions, losses and/or stresses. 3: Provide ongoing support for client and family. Monitor and document status. Provide assistance, when requested, in obtaining verifications, delivering messages and for any other actions that support timely, effective client services. 4: Identify and assist client and family in casework process for services through the Red Cross and/or other agencies/organizations. Advocate on behalf of client and help obtain all additional resources to meet client's needs. 5: Maintain accurate client/family service statistics and generate reports in accordance with organization standards. 6: Identify, develop and maintain key relationships with external partners to promote Red Cross services and programs. 7: Serve as technical subject matter expert (SME) to internal and external constituents. Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Applies subject matter knowledge; requires capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications ): Education: Bachelor's degree required. Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Management Experience: n/a Skills & Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Collect and research data. Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Manage difficult or emotional client situations. Respond to requests for service and assistance and develop alternative solutions as needed. Exhibit sound and accurate judgment. Work with integrity and ethics. Maintain confidentiality. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of community resources and applicability. Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to work on a team. A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required. Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted). Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
